Mark Meadows Calls For Rosenstein to Testify on Spying Against Trump

Rep Mark Meadows is calling for Rod Rosenstein to testify before Congress on the accusation that he offered to wear a wire to record Trump and his offer to recruit cabinet members in order to invoke the 25th Amendment, to remove President Trump from office. Meadows had previously filed articles of impeachment against Rosenstein.

He has also not been happy that Rosenstein has withheld documents that Congress is constitutionally authorized to see and to provide oversight on. Meadows demand may be moot. Rosenstein is meeting with the president on Thursday and he could resign or be fired during that meeting.

    From The Gateway Pundit

On  Tuesday, Freedom Caucus Chairman Mark Meadows (R-NC), who previously filed articles of impeachment against Rosenstein, called for the Deputy Attorney General to appear before Congress under oath this week.

MEADOWS: You can’t have the number two official at the Department of Justice making comments about wiring the President and not address it. Rod Rosenstein must come before Congress this week, under oath, and tell the truth about his alleged statements.

Last Friday, The New York Times reported Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein last year spoke with DOJ and FBI officials about wearing a wire and secretly recording President Trump to be able to build a case that Trump is unfit to hold office.

The New York Times report on Rosenstein’s plot to oust Trump from office cited then-Acting FBI Director Andrew McCabe’s memos as a source.

That statement by McCabe in his memos is the reason for the White House meeting. Rosenstein resigning could turn into a nightmare for the Senate, especially after Democrats said they would simply not confirm anyone that the president nominates.

Under the Vacancies Reform Act, Trump can place anyone he wants into that position until the Senate confirms a new DAG or 210 days. If time limit occurs, Trump can merely name someone else to take over.
