A man in Massachusetts has been arrested on suspicion of brutally attacking his parents and then setting their home on fire in an apparent attempt to kill them.
Local authorities say the suspect — whose identity has been withheld — allegedly beat both parents, then ignited flames inside the residence before fleeing. First responders discovered the injured couple and transported them to a nearby hospital for treatment.
Fire officials classified the blaze as suspicious given evidence of deliberate ignition, and investigators are currently combing through physical evidence and witnesses’ accounts to build a case.
The suspect remains in custody as the district attorney’s office prepares charges, potentially including attempted murder, arson, and domestic violence.
