A state lawmaker out in Michigan has started to get death threats in the wake of one of her colleagues speaking out against her near the start of the week throughout a speech from the floor of the Michigan Senate that has gone viral.

Lana Theis, a Republican Senator from Michigan, stated that she and her family have been getting death threats in the wake of a speech made by Sen. Mallory McMorrow, a Democratic colleague. Theis claimed that the threats were immediately sent to local law enforcement agencies.

“You are dead meat, you f***ing b****, you and your husband Samuel, and your two brats [redacted]. I won’t rest until all four of you are rotating on spits rammed up your a**es, while you’re slowly burned alive,” stated one of the threats released by Theis.

In response, the office of McMorrow stated diplomatically that “no one should be on the receiving end of death threats, it is abhorrent.”

Just last week, McMorrow was one of a group of three Democrats to flee the Michigan Senate chambers due to Theis praying over the session, and more specifically over children.

“Dear Lord, across the country we’re seeing in the news that our children are under attack; that there are forces that desire things for them other than what their parents would have them see and hear and know. Dear Lord, I pray for Your guidance in this chamber to protect the most vulnerable among us,” stated Theis.

One of the senators that chose to Leave the chamber alongside McMorrow, Sen. Dayna Polehanki, claimed that the prayer from Theis was an outright attack against the “LGBT community,” and claimed that it was “beyond the pale.” On Monday, the campaign for Theis sent out an email about fundraising that condemned “gender-bending indoctrination,” “exposure to inappropriate sexual content,” and any curricula in schools that included Critical Race Theory before specifically pointing to McMorrow. In part, the email stated:

These are the people we are up against. Progressive social media trolls like Senator Mallory McMorrow (D-Snowflake) who are outraged they can’t teach [sic] can’t groom and sexualize kindergarteners or that 8-year olds are responsible for slavery.

They believe that we, as parents, do not have the right to help our children navigate their adolescence or their education. These enlightened elites believe our rights end at the curb of the school drop-off and we must surrender to the wisdom of teacher unions, trans-activists, and the education bureaucracy.

McMorrow issued a response to the email in her speech that was given on the Senate floor the next day. “I want every child in this state to feel seen, heard, and supported, not marginalized and targeted because they are not straight, white, and Christian. We cannot let hateful people tell you otherwise to scapegoat and deflect from the fact that they are not doing anything to fix the real issues that impact real peoples’ lives,” exclaimed McMorrow.
