A woman in Minneapolis was forcibly removed from her vehicle by federal immigration agents during a tense confrontation connected to a large scale ICE enforcement operation.
The woman, identified as Aliya Rahman, was seen in video footage as officers broke a window, cut her seatbelt, and pulled her out of the car before taking her into custody. Rahman said she was on her way to a medical appointment when the incident occurred and told officers she was disabled.
The Department of Homeland Security said Rahman had interfered with an active ICE arrest and refused repeated orders to move her vehicle, which they say justified the action taken by agents.
The incident happened amid widespread protests and heightened tensions in Minneapolis over federal immigration enforcement following recent high profile operations in the city.
