During a recent episode of “Piers Morgan Uncensored,” Emily Austin, a Jewish journalist and Israel advocate, found herself in a heated exchange with Palestinian activist Nerdeen Kiswani. The debate, which aired on October 24, centered around the ongoing conflict in Gaza.

The tension escalated when Austin challenged Kiswani on her views regarding a rocket launch by Islamic Jihad, alleged to have caused an explosion at the al-Ahli Baptist Hospital in Gaza City. Austin’s questioning, which included a reference to the 9/11 attacks, was met with disdain by Kiswani, who criticized the line of inquiry as absurd.

Throughout the segment, Kiswani frequently directed her frustrations at host Piers Morgan, questioning his approach to moderating the discussion. She also accused Austin of denying genocide, an accusation Austin dismissed as trivial. Austin later claimed that Kiswani had incited online harassment against her, citing a social media post by Kiswani featuring Austin’s image with a threatening symbol.

In an interview with Fox News Digital, Austin expressed her intent to remain factual and unemotional during the debate, despite Kiswani’s aggressive demeanor and subsequent threats on social media.

Kiswani, identified by the Anti-Defamation League (ADL) as the head of the New York-based Within Our Lifetime-United for Palestine (WOL), is known for her vocal support of aggressive actions against Israel and her calls for the exclusion and vilification of Zionists from community spaces. Her prominence grew following a controversial commencement speech at CUNY Law in May 2022, where she condemned normalization of relations with Israel.

Post-interview, Austin reported receiving numerous threatening messages on social media, ranging from death threats to personal attacks. These messages included alarming statements and graphic threats of violence, intimidation, and harassment. Austin’s family, including her mother, also became targets of this online abuse.

Concerned about her safety, Austin reported the threats to the FBI, who are now investigating each message and post. She expressed gratitude for the FBI’s proactive and supportive response to her situation. Austin’s experience highlights the dangers journalists and public figures face when engaging in contentious political debates, particularly on sensitive topics like the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
