In an extraordinary showdown on the House floor, two prominent far-right Republicans engaged in a heated feud that reportedly involved the use of profanity.
The clash unfolded when Georgia Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene allegedly referred to Colorado Representative Lauren Boebert as a “little b***h” during a heated exchange captured on C-SPAN cameras without audio.
According to witnesses who shared details with the Daily Beast, Boebert confronted Greene about the derogatory remarks Greene had made about her publicly. This confrontation ignited the argument, with Greene taking issue with Boebert’s introduction of impeachment articles against President Joe Biden. In a snide response to the public dispute, Greene quipped, “Imitation is the greatest form of flattery.”
Both Greene and Boebert are notable figures within the MAGA movement and have been closely aligned with former President Trump throughout their political careers.
As the feud escalated, the presiding representative on the House floor expressed frustration and urged the congresswomen to continue their conversation elsewhere. Despite the presiding lawmaker’s attempts to restore order, Greene and Boebert persisted in their discussion, disregarding the gavel banging on the desk.
Although the C-SPAN footage lacked audio, it was evident that the lawmakers were engaged in a serious and contentious exchange. Greene could be seen pointing at Boebert on two occasions, and their facial expressions betrayed the intensity of the confrontation.
Boebert did not deny the reports about the altercation, simply stating, “Marjorie is not my enemy. I am here to safeguard the future of our nation. The Democratic Party, led by Joe Biden, is causing the destruction of the United States. My top priorities are to rectify their harmful policies and save our country.”
Multiple witnesses, including one present during the heated exchange, confirmed Greene’s use of the derogatory term towards Boebert. Another witness specified that Greene referred to Boebert as “a little b***h.”
As the confrontation became increasingly animated and heated, Greene rose from her seat on the House floor. Witnesses reported that she expressed her disappointment to one of her supporters, saying, “I have donated to you, I have defended you. But you have acted nothing short of a spoiled brat towards me.”
Greene further added, “And after I requested your cosponsorship for my articles of impeachment, you went ahead and copied them.” Boebert dismissed Greene’s accusation, claiming that she hadn’t even read the resolution.
House Speaker Kevin McCarthy publicly criticized Boebert for her introduction of a fast-tracked impeachment resolution against President Biden.
Greene has taken a leading role in the impeachment effort and was displeased to see Boebert attempting to champion the same cause.
Earlier that day, Greene had remarked, in reference to Boebert’s failure to address the GOP conference about her fast-track resolution, “Lauren Boebert never spoke at the conference.”
During her speech at the conference, Greene emphasized, “I made it clear that I introduced articles of impeachment from the very first day of Joe Biden’s presidency.” “I have been discussing it with everyone for ages.”
“Everyone, absolutely everyone, until I am completely exhausted. Can’t you see it? My face is as red as a beet.”
