Former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi is facing criticism after a video surfaced showing her telling pro-Palestinian protesters from Code Pink to “go back to China.” The confrontation took place in front of Pelosi’s house in October, where protesters had been demonstrating for a ceasefire.

The video, posted by Code Pink, captured Pelosi engaging with protesters and making the contentious remark. The group, known for its peace activism, has been protesting at Pelosi’s house for 17 years. They accused Pelosi, who receives significant donations from AIPAC every year, of being a “foreign agent.”

Social media users, including Trending Politics co-owner Collin Rugg, have criticized Pelosi’s comments. Constitutional law professor Jonathan Turley compared Pelosi’s remarks to McCarthyism, while GOP operative Steve Guest highlighted the potential reaction if a Republican had made a similar statement. Mark Hemingway, a senior writer at RealClearInvestigations, pointed to a double standard in media coverage.

Pelosi was presumably referring to a New York Times report linking Code Pink to a Chinese propaganda network. Recently, Pelosi suggested that protesters calling for a ceasefire in Gaza might be “connected to Russia,” a claim she made on CNN. She indicated a connection to Putin’s message and a long-held suspicion of Russian involvement.

Fox News Digital reached out to Pelosi’s office for comment but did not receive a response. Code Pink spokesperson Melissa Garriga dismissed the accusations of Chinese propaganda, asserting that both Democrats and Republicans use such claims to discredit their anti-war stance. Code Pink issued a press release addressing Pelosi’s allegations, emphasizing their desire to end foreign wars and American imperialism.

Pelosi’s comments have sparked controversy, with critics accusing her of making slanderous and baseless allegations against a well-known peace organization. The incident has raised questions about the rhetoric used by political figures in addressing dissenting voices and protest movements.
