Amidst growing concern over global warming, an unconventional international group known as the Tyre Extinguishers has escalated its mission to combat climate change by deflating tires on parked sports utility vehicles (SUVs). Originating in the U.K., the far-left organization has expanded its operations to encompass 18 countries, including the United States, Canada, France, Spain, Germany, Italy, and most recently, Portugal.

Reports have emerged of their audacious actions in major cities such as New York City, Boston, Chicago, San Francisco, and various cities in England. The Tyre Extinguishers proudly claimed responsibility for these tire-deflating endeavors, sparking both anger and curiosity among the targeted SUV owners. They even took to social media, gleefully sharing updates and reactions from those affected by their actions.

To further propagate their message, the group utilizes pamphlets left on the windshields of the deflated vehicles. One such pamphlet, adorned with the headline “ATTENTION – your gas guzzler kills,” assures the vehicle owners that the action taken is not personal. “You’ll be angry, but don’t take it personally. It’s not you, it’s your car,” the pamphlet reads, emphasizing the negative impact of driving these massive vehicles in urban areas on others and the environment.

The Tyre Extinguishers are driven by a diverse collective of individuals united by a common goal: rendering the ownership of polluting 4×4 vehicles impractical in urban settings worldwide. Their unconventional tactic involves deflating the tires of these oversized vehicles, causing inconvenience for their owners. The group sees itself as defending against climate change, air pollution, and unsafe driving practices.

Remarkably, the Tyre Extinguishers operate as a leaderless and autonomous movement comprised of independent groups. Their influence has spurred the creation of similar organizations globally, such as The DundeeFlators in Scotland, Les Degonfleurs in France, and SUVVersive in Italy. Together, these groups have successfully deflated tires on more than 10,000 SUVs, showcasing the magnitude of their coordinated efforts.

In November of the previous year, the Tyre Extinguishers achieved a remarkable feat, boasting about “disarming” over 900 SUVs in a single night through a synchronized action across multiple cities in the U.S. and Europe. They proudly proclaimed this as the largest coordinated global campaign against high-carbon vehicles to date, promising many more actions in the future.

As the Tyre Extinguishers continue their unconventional crusade against SUVs, the world remains divided on their tactics. While some view them as eco-warriors taking a stand against climate change, others condemn their actions as criminal behavior. As their movement gains momentum, the group remains resolute in their mission, determined to challenge the prevailing norms surrounding vehicle ownership and raise awareness about the environmental consequences of gas-guzzling SUVs.
