Nick Reiner, the son of filmmaker Rob Reiner, has been taken into custody in connection with the fatal stabbings of his parents at their Los Angeles home, according to law enforcement officials.

Authorities said officers detained Reiner after evidence gathered during the investigation pointed to his possible involvement in the killings. The bodies of Rob Reiner and his wife were discovered inside the residence following a welfare check, prompting a homicide investigation.

Police have not publicly disclosed a motive, but investigators are reviewing the family’s recent history, forensic evidence from the scene, and witness statements as part of the ongoing case. Officials confirmed that the investigation escalated rapidly after new information emerged.

Reiner remains in custody as authorities prepare formal charges and court proceedings. Law enforcement emphasized that the case is still active and that additional details will be released once they can be confirmed.

The case has drawn national attention due to Rob Reiner’s prominence in the film industry and the shocking nature of the allegations.
