Rap icon Nicki Minaj publicly expressed gratitude to Donald Trump after his administration announced it would designate Nigeria as a “Country of Particular Concern” due to large-scale violence against Christians.

Minaj, who openly identifies as a Christian, shared her appreciation in a social-media message, writing that reading Trump’s post “made me feel a deep sense of gratitude.” She emphasized that people should be free to worship without fear and that the global persecution of religious minorities must not be ignored.

In his statement, President Trump asserted that Christianity in Nigeria faced an “existential threat,” citing deaths and attacks attributed to extremist Islamist groups. He pledged that the United States would stand for persecuted believers worldwide and directed Congressional investigators to review the situation.

Minaj’s comment draws attention to the global religious-freedom crisis and reflects her willingness to use her public platform to support advocacy beyond her music career.
