Rep Devin Nunes, Chairman of the House Intel Committee, is tired of Rod Rosenstein and Christopher Wray over their failure to turn over documents his committee needs to investigate FISA abuse and other matters and he has now given them a time limit before he issues subpoenas against them to force them to release it.
Nunes wants the unredacted FISA warrant applications as well as documents about the Hillary investigation. He first requested some of this information August of 2017.
In a letter he wrote to Rosenstein (DOJ) and Wray (FBI0 He is giving them until next Wednesday to produce the documents or he will force them to release it.
“Be advised that failure to comply in a satisfactory manner will result in the Committee pursuing all appropriate legal remedies, including seeking civil enforcement of the August 24 subpoenas in federal district court,” he wrote in the letter, which was obtained by The Daily Caller News Foundation
One of the documents Nunes seeks is an FBI record known as an Electronic Communication (EC) which laid out the bureau’s rationale for opening the counterintelligence investigation into whether the Trump campaign colluded with Russian operatives.
Nunes is also demanding copies of the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA) warrants taken out against former Trump campaign adviser Carter Page.
Nunes and the Republicans have wanted to see the documents showing why the investigation was started in the first place and to see the unredacted FISA warrants in able to tell who may have lied in order to get the FISA warrant that allowed them to spy on the Trump campaign.
It is widely believed that the FBI and DOJ conspired to try to rob the Trump campaign of the presidency and to try to force him from office if he did win.
