New York Attorney General Letitia James has claimed that former President Donald Trump is retaliating against her by sending individuals to surveil her home, describing the acts as intimidation tactics tied to her high-profile legal victories against him.
Speaking during a rally in Harlem, James accused Trump of orchestrating a so-called “revenge tour” in response to the massive $454 million civil fraud judgment secured against him and his business empire. She stated that individuals had appeared near her residence, taking photos and posting them online in what she believes is a deliberate attempt to harass and pressure her.
At the same time, James is the subject of a federal criminal investigation focused on alleged misrepresentations related to mortgage applications for properties in Brooklyn and Virginia. The inquiry, led by federal authorities, centers on whether she falsely claimed residency to receive financial benefits.
James’s legal team has denied any wrongdoing, attributing the mortgage-related issues to administrative errors and arguing that the matter is being politicized. Her defense has also drawn attention for potentially involving taxpayer-funded legal support, which has prompted criticism from political opponents.
The public dispute between James and Trump continues to escalate as legal proceedings unfold on multiple fronts, deepening the already contentious relationship between the two prominent figures.
