NY AG’s Smirk Sparks Outrage During Don Jr’s Testimony

In a recent development in New York, Attorney General Letitia James, a member of the Democratic Party, was observed displaying a subtle smile as Donald Trump Jr. commenced his testimony in his father’s civil lawsuit this Monday.

Over recent weeks, ex-President Trump has been a regular in courtrooms, defending his company, the Trump Organization. The organization faces potential revocation of its New York business license following allegations of fraud by James. These charges also implicate Trump’s adult sons as co-defendants.

The courtroom camera captured a moment of apparent delight on James’ face as Trump Jr. prepared to testify. Known for her critical stance towards Trump, James has actively pursued legal action against the former president, a stance she advocated even before her tenure as attorney general began. Despite this, she maintains that her legal actions are not driven by political bias.

This incident echoes a previous moment in the trial presided over by Judge Arthur Engoron, who was seen posing playfully for the cameras last month. Meanwhile, Alina Habba, Trump’s attorney, criticized James during a Fox News segment, accusing her of political motivations and suggesting the case should be dismissed to focus on more pressing city matters.

The tensions in the courtroom have escalated to the point where Judge Engoron imposed a gag order on the ex-president following his public criticism of the court. This legal battle is one of several Trump faces, including federal charges concerning his actions prior to January 6, issues surrounding classified documents, the 2016 Stormy Daniels hush money case in New York, and a Georgia case related to the 2020 election results.
