Obama Official Raises Doubts About Biden’s Re-Election Bid

In light of recent polling data that raises “legitimate concerns” about his electoral viability, renowned political analyst David Axelrod has thrown doubt on President Joe Biden’s chances of gaining re-election in 2024.

Axelrod expressed his concern on social media, drawing attention to polls showing that former president Donald Trump is performing better than Biden in five of six crucial swing states. Biden only leads Trump by two percentage points in Wisconsin, but he leads by double digits in other states including Arizona, Michigan, Pennsylvania, Georgia, and Nevada. If Joe Biden decides to run for president again in 2024, he will most certainly face Donald Trump in the Republican primary.

Axelrod tweeted, “Only @JoeBiden can make this decision,” emphasizing that the final say belongs to Vice President Biden. If he continues to run, he will be the nominee of the Democratic Party. The question he must answer is, “Is that wise; is it in MY best interest or the country’s?”

Trump is a “dangerous, unhinged demagogue” who has shown contempt for democratic norms and regulations, as described by Axelrod. While pointing out these worrying characteristics, Axelrod also warned against dismissing Trump as an electoral threat in 2024.

New polling information shows a worrying downward trend for the Biden camp. Biden’s support is declining among those under the age of 30, where he holds only a slim 1% edge over Trump. There has been a decline in Biden’s support among Hispanic voters as well. The polling data from The New York Times and Siena College reveals an unexpectedly large percentage of black voters (22%) who back Trump.

Although former President Trump has been facing several legal battles and indictments since April, he remains the frontrunner in the Republican Party’s 2024 primary. Trump’s popularity among Republican voters has not been surpassed by any of his rivals, including Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, former UN Ambassador Nikki Haley, and business tycoon Vivek Ramaswamy.

The scenario is set for a potential rematch between President Biden and Donald Trump, who are both running for reelection and are currently the frontrunners in their respective parties’ primaries. However, Robert Kennedy Jr.’s potential candidacy as an independent candidate could further muddy the political waters. After withdrawing from the Democratic primary for president in 2024 in October, Kennedy is now in a position to run as a third-party candidate. Recent polling data reveals that in a head-to-head matchup, Trump and Biden are neck-and-neck. It’s possible that Kennedy’s presence in the race will shift the 2024 presidential election in favor of Trump over Biden.
