Obama to Campaign for Defending Nevada Incumbents Before Elections

According to the Associated Press, former President Barack Obama plans to visit southern Nevada on November 1—the last day of early voting in the state—to campaign for Senator Catherine Cortez Masto (D-NV) and Governor Steve Sisolak (D).

According to the Nevada Independent, the “early vote rally” would include “Democrats up and down the ticket,” including candidates like Sisolak and Cortez Masto, who have distanced themselves from incumbent Vice President Joe Biden. The news of Obama’s visit came soon after the Democrat governor of Nevada, Steve Sisolak, had a video of former President Barack Obama promoting him posted by his campaign.

Steve has defended the right to vote and have an abortion in Nevada at a time when some people are seeking to roll them back. You can rely on Steve Sisolak because he has been there for you. Obama has remarked, “he’s one of the finest governors, and now you need to be there for him.”

When they arrived, Cortez Masto and Sisolak were trailing their Republican opponents, former Nevada Attorney General Adam Laxalt and Clark County Sheriff Joe Lombardo, by a razor-thin margin.

If Cortez Masto’s Republican challenger, former Nevada Attorney General Adam Laxalt, were to win Nevada’s Senate seat, the GOP would regain the majority in the Senate. Since Labor Day, Cortez Masto has been behind Laxalt in every poll except one, while the margin of error keeps the race close.

According to the report, “in the race for governor, Sisolak has remained neck and neck with his Republican challenger, Clark County Sheriff Joe Lombardo,” where “the contest has been defined in large part on national issues, including the economy and access to abortion, in addition to local concerns like crime.”

Lombardo criticized his rival, claiming that Sisolak “couldn’t be more desperate” after Obama’s tour.

Twenty days to go, and Steve Sisolak is more desperate than ever. How low can one go? Democratic President Barack Obama and Democratic Socialist candidate Bernie Sanders are on their way to Nevada to campaign on his behalf. The candidate for governor asked on Twitter, “When are Joe Biden and Kamala Harris coming?”

The Democrats’ “highest profile campaign visit” this election season will be made by Obama, while Biden has not been to Nevada at all. In 2016 and 2018, Obama visited Nevada to rally support for the Democrats.
