Ocasio-Cortez Missed The “Fine Print” In Her Latest Healthcare Rant

First of all, I would like to put a false rumor to rest. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez will not be co-starring in the new Austin Powers movie as Mini-Mao. Now, on to our story. Ocasio-Cortez posted a letter on Twitter that suggested a woman use crowd funding to pay for an operation to save her life. She then went on to blast the insurance company that wrote the letter.

There was just one slight problem. The letter was not from an insurance company. It was from a medical supplier. They could not or would not do her surgery for free and suggested she crowd fund in order to raise the money. Their name and address is shown prominently on the letterhead and she still got it wrong. Although many people pointed out her mistake, Ocasio-Cortez has let the tweet stand.

Insurance groups are recommending GoFundMe as official policy – where customers can die if they can’t raise the goal in time – but sure, single payer healthcare is unreasonable.

It literally says “Heart and Lung Specialized Care Clinic” at the top. This letter wasn’t sent by an insurer but sure, let’s go with your narrative. ?

Before you can even begin to talk about reforming healthcare, you need to understand how it currently works. Start with a simple Google search of Spectrum Health in Grand Rapids, MI.

Another impressive display of intellectual prowess, to add to the books. ? Bravo.

Maybe if you said it in Spanish it would sound better? Probably not.

If she’s the best and brightest the Democrats have, then that party is in deep trouble.
