The entertainment industry is mourning the loss of acclaimed actress Suzanne Somers, who passed away at the age of 75. According to her official death certificate, which was exclusively accessed by Fox News Digital, the cause of death was identified as “breast cancer with metastasis to brain.”

In her decades-long battle with the illness, Somers had been an epitome of strength and resilience. She succumbed to the disease in the early hours of October 15, passing away peacefully at her residence. “She faced an aggressive type of breast cancer head-on for more than 23 years,” stated her representative in an official announcement.

Beyond breast cancer, other significant health conditions such as “hypertension, hydrocephalus” were noted on her death certificate as contributing factors to her demise, though they did not directly cause her death. A biopsy was conducted, but no autopsy was performed post-mortem.

A household name, Somers was best known for her roles in popular television shows such as “Three’s Company” and “Step by Step.” In July, during an interaction with Fox News Digital, Somers had openly shared about her ongoing battle with breast cancer.

“I’ve been navigating through cancer for several decades now, integrating both alternative and conventional medical approaches to keep it in check. Each time it rears its ugly head, I fight back,” she expressed determinedly.

Somers had encountered cancer earlier in her life as well, battling skin cancer in her 30s and facing breast cancer in her 50s. Despite these challenges, she remained a beacon of positivity and strength.

Married to television host Alan Hamel since 1977, Somers frequently spoke about their deep connection and affection for each other. The couple shared a son, Bruce, and were proud grandparents to three granddaughters: Camelia, Violet, and Daisy.

In the wake of her passing, Somers’ representative shared, “We will not be focusing on her death, but rather celebrating her incredible life. We are immensely grateful for the love and support from her fans and followers, and request privacy for the family during this time. A private burial will take place this week, and a memorial service is scheduled for the following month.”

The legacy of Suzanne Somers will undoubtedly live on, as she leaves behind a legacy marked by her impressive career, her courageous battle against cancer, and the love and inspiration she shared with her family, friends, and fans alike.
