Oprah Winfrey has replied to a claim made by Senator Mitt Romney in his new biography titled “Romney: A Reckoning,” indicating that she has never contemplated running for president in 2020. Romney made this allegation in his book and Oprah Winfrey has stated that she has never considered running for president. Romney has hinted that Oprah had been in touch with him to discuss the possibility of running on a united ticket against Donald Trump’s reelection.

According to a statement made by a spokeswoman for Winfrey, the matter has been cleared by the fact that Winfrey phoned Senator Romney in November 2019 to encourage him to run on an independent ticket. She was not phoning to be included on the ticket, and she had never even entertained the idea of running for office herself.

Despite the fact that Oprah has been active in politics in the past, including lending her support to Barack Obama in 2008 and voicing her approval of Disney CEO Bob Iger’s possible candidacy for president, she has stated that she does not intend to make a bid for the presidency in 2020.
