Attorney General Pam Bondi abruptly canceled her keynote appearance at the CPAC anti-trafficking summit after disclosing a torn cornea, just as she found herself at the eye of a widening political firestorm. Her withdrawal came on the same day a major report revealed she had informed President Trump his name appeared multiple times in internal Justice Department files related to Jeffrey Epstein—information never released to the public.

Though the White House reaffirmed its support, Bondi has faced growing criticism from within her own party for reversing earlier claims that the administration held compelling evidence—only to later declare no credible “client list” or prosecutable material existed. Critics argue the shift has intensified calls for transparency and accountability.

Despite her physical ailment, the DOJ insists Bondi remains active in her duties. However, House Republicans are demanding full disclosure of Epstein-related documents and testimony from key witnesses like Ghislaine Maxwell, signaling likely committees inquisition in the coming months.
