The family of 22-year-old Tyler James Robinson, now charged with killing Charlie Kirk at Utah Valley University, has become more visible in public records and reporting.

    • Tyler lives with his parents, Matt and Amber Denise Robinson, in Washington County, Utah, in a suburban area.
    • His mother, Amber, is employed in disability support services; his father, Matt, owns a small construction business.
    • Both parents are registered as Republicans. Tyler is listed in public voter records as nonpartisan and considered “inactive.”
    • A family friend tipped off law enforcement after Tyler allegedly confessed or admitted involvement in the shooting to a relative. Authorities then located him.
    • Neighbors describe Tyler as having been shy, academically capable, and once earning top ACT scores. He attended high school with honors and briefly enrolled in college on scholarship.

The family now faces intense media attention as the investigation proceeds. The parents have not publicly explained their son’s motives.
