A tragic crash on a Colorado highway left a father and three children dead after a stolen vehicle driven by a 31-year-old parolee veered into oncoming traffic and struck their car head-on.
The deceased have been identified as 35-year-old Alvin Corado and three children, ages 11, 8, and 12. The suspect, who had allegedly stolen the Toyota roughly an hour before the collision, also died at the scene. Two other children who were in the vehicle survived but were hospitalized with serious injuries.
Law-enforcement officials confirmed the driver of the stolen car had a lengthy criminal history and was on parole at the time of the crash. Records show multiple prior arrests, including assault, burglary, DUI, parole violations, and other offenses. Authorities said the crash unfolded after the stolen car lost control, crossed the median, and collided head-on with the family’s sedan.
The violent loss has shocked the community. Neighbors, local leaders, and a Colorado Springs school where the children studied described the families as deeply grieving. A vigil and funeral arrangements are being organized for the victims as the investigation continues.
