The past seems to have caught up with Ali Watkins. She was in college at the time she met James A Wolfe. In fact, her first big scoop came while she was in college and wrote about the torture program set up by the CIA which was before the Senate Select Intel Committee, where Wolfe worked. But recently some very disturbing tweets from Watkins have been found that seems to suggest she was open to trading sex for scoops.
The indictment said Wolfe, 58, began dating Watkins — who is in her 20’s — in 2013 when she was an undergraduate student working as a news intern. The indictment said the pair ended the relationship in December 2017.

Then a couple of months later, it seems she may have changed that frame of mine, stating: “So on a scale of 1 to ethical, how does everyone feel about pulling a @RealZoeBarnes for story ideas? #TOTALLYKIDDING #HouseofCards”

Zoe Barnes was a newspaperwoman who slept with an aging politician in order to get hot stories for her paper on the show House of Cards. This sounds suspiciously like what she did with James Wolfe, who was in his fifties at the time they met. His scoops seemed to have cut a lot of corners that beginning reporters seem to face.
She also tweeted that the Trump administration was doing the leaking instead of her boyfriend, Wolfe: “Senate Intel has been SOOO frustrated in recent weeks by the constant dribble of leaks about who’s testifying to them, when.”

The ‘House of Cards’ tweets were posted just a few months before Ali Watkins, a young reporter in her 20’s began dating Wolfe, a Senate Intel Aide in his 50’s.
A few weeks ago, President Trump put White House leakers on notice.
“We will find out who they are,” said the President after referring to leakers as “traitors and cowards.”
Attorney General Jeff Sessions said back in November, “We intend to get to the bottom of these leaks.”
