PMSDNC are trying to start a war over guns to be used to protect children. Yamiche Alcindor, from PBS, said that if you give teachers guns they will kill minority students. That may not be the dumbest thing I’ve heard all year, but it is in the top 2. Like all liberals, Alcindor hasn’t checked her facts.
One thousand school districts nationwide have armed teachers and have for several years. There has been just one fatality. The toilet in a faculty bathroom in Utah. If we assume each school district has a minimum of 4 schools, that makes 4,000 schools with armed school staff. Ask your child how many minority bodies she or he had to walk over today.
The panel was weighing in on a New York Times report that said the Department of Education is considering allowing states to use federal money to arm teachers. According to the report, the DOE is considering Student Support and Academic Enrichment grants that would allow the Secretary of Education Betsy DeVos “to use her discretion to approve any state or district plans to use grant funding for firearms and firearm training, unless Congress clarifies the law or bans such funding through legislative action.”
The DOE has not confirmed such a move is being considered.
Alcindor claims she has spoken with advocates who believe any programs that arm teachers will pose a threat to minority students.
Alcindor says:
“If you start arming teachers, there are black and brown students … who are being disciplined more than their white counterparts, you could then start seeing statistics where potentially black students are getting shot or in accidents when their teachers are trying to shoot or do gun safety measures.”
“NAACP and other advocacy groups say, not only are we looking at this as an issue, but it’s also the idea that racially it’s going to be a problem.”
