Pelosi Warns Nadler Over Impeachment of Trump

Last week the Democrats held a closed door meeting in which Nancy Pelosi railed against the push for impeachment.

Every poll shows that the American voters are against impeachment and a huge part of the Democratic victories in 2018 were the moderate Democrats who won in Republican districts.

Impeachment would jeopardize them all and could lead to Republicans retaking the House. Nancy Pelosi and Jerry Nadler are at odds over Nadler’s drive for impeachment.

The House can impeach President Trump because they do not have to prove that the president has committed a crime.

But, when it goes to the Senate, there is no way in hell they will vote to remove him. Mitch McConnell has already said it would be dead on arrival.

Nancy Pelosi criticized House Judiciary Dems during a closed-door meeting last week for being too aggressive in their actions to impeach the President.

Pelosi knows impeachment is political suicide for her so she has been doing a very careful dance around the subject with her doublespeak — and now she’s warning members of the Democrat Caucus to back off impeachment.

Pelosi also knows that the full House does not support impeaching Trump because a resolution introduced by Rep. Al Green was already shot down in a landslide.

Furthermore, McConnell made it very clear that impeachment would be DOA in the Republican-controlled Senate.

    Politico reported:

Pelosi criticized the panel’s handling of impeachment in harsh terms, complaining committee aides have advanced the push for ousting President Donald Trump far beyond where the House Democratic Caucus stands. Democrats simply don’t have the votes on the floor to impeach Trump, Pelosi said.

“And you can feel free to leak this,” Pelosi added, according to multiple people in the room. Pelosi’s office declined to comment on the meeting.

It was the latest sign of the widening schism between Pelosi and Judiciary Committee Chairman Jerry Nadler, two longtime allies who are increasingly in conflict over where to guide the party at one of its most critical moments.

Nadler’s Judiciary Committee recently approved procedures for an impeachment investigation into President Trump.
