As a consequence of the investigation being conducted by Special Counsel David Weiss, Hunter Biden has been charged with committing a variety of federal firearms violations. These charges stem from Weiss’s investigation. It is alleged that he made a false statement while he was in the process of obtaining a firearm, that he made a false statement about information that is needed by a federally licensed dealer of weapons, and that he had a firearm while being a user of a controlled drug illegally or being addicted to a controlled substance. All of these allegations are said to have occurred while he was in the process of purchasing a handgun. The criminal prosecution that is being brought against him includes all of these charges. He is accused of making a false statement about information that is required by a federally licensed dealer of firearms, purchasing a firearm, and possessing a firearm while being addicted to a controlled substance. These charges were brought against him in a criminal complaint.
In the indictment, it is alleged that Hunter Biden willfully prepared a false and fake written statement in order to purchase a Colt Cobra 38SPL Revolver on or around October 12, 2018. In this statement, he allegedly represented to the seller that he was not an unlawful user of, and addicted to, any banned drug. In particular, the indictment says that Hunter Biden made a false declaration to the effect that he was not an illegal user of any synthetic cannabinoid nor addicted to any such substance. In addition, the indictment alleges that throughout the same time period, Hunter Biden intentionally had the pistol despite the fact that he was engaging in the illegal use of controlled substances. This is stated in the context of the same time period. It is believed that this took place somewhere during the period of time in question.
The filing of these claims against Hunter Biden is a first since those accusations have been brought up after Special Counsel David Weiss was given the authority to act in his position as a special counsel. This is because those allegations have been brought up since David Weiss was given the right to operate as a special counsel. Abbe Lowell, who represents Hunter Biden, is the attorney who responded to the allegations by hinting that they were politically motivated and inconsistent with a previous plea deal. Lowell is the one who filed a rebuttal to the charges. In response to the allegations that have been made against him, Lowell has vowed to vigorously defend himself in legal proceedings.
The original plea deal that Hunter Biden was scheduled to enter into in July did not go through. According to the plan, he was going to plead guilty to some minor tax offenses and avoid pleading guilty to a felony gun charge. However, this plan did not go through in July. It was speculated that he would enter a guilty plea to the lesser tax charges in order to get out of the more serious weapons accusation. This latest change in the course of events just took place quite recently. Weiss was given the position of special counsel by Attorney General Merrick Garland after the latter made the decision to appoint him in order to provide him control of the investigation that is now being undertaken on Hunter Biden.
