On Tuesday, Metropolitan Nashville Police Chief John Drake verified that Covenant School shooter Audrey Hale was getting medical treatment for a “emotional disorder.” Hale was responsible for the deaths of three pupils and three staff members.

Drake added that Hale’s parents were ignorant of the seven legal guns Hale possessed because they only knew of one gun, which they believed Hale had sold.

We spoke with Audrey Hale’s parents and came to the conclusion that she lawfully purchased seven firearms from five separate local shops. They were bought within the law. Yesterday, three of those weapons were used in the terrible tragedy that occurred,” Drake said at a news briefing.

They only thought she had one firearm, and she sold it, Drake said. For a “emotional disorder,” she was receiving medical treatment. Her folks thought she shouldn’t have guns, but the police had no idea about her care.

He elaborated, “They were under the idea that when she sold the one firearm, she no longer owned any others. She had been keeping several firearms hidden around the home, it turned out.

MNPD does not yet have a reason, according to the police chief, but the manifesto discovered by law enforcement had “quite a bit of writing to it.”

In the declaration, for example, the author discusses a number of various places. There were discussions of the school, a drawn outline of the school, and a depiction of how she might approach and be assaulted. There’s a lot of text involved. The full declaration is not something I have read. Drake stated, “We’ve been working on this with the FBI.

He also mentioned that there were “some writings” pertaining to other sites, but he was unable to corroborate whether or not these places had also been targets. Drake added that none of the six fatalities looked to be premeditated.

Body cam video of the two MNPD officers, Rex Englebert and Michael Collazo, who shot and killed Hale to stop the mass killing was published earlier on Tuesday.

On Monday, police disclosed that Hale was a real female who had been living as a guy. And according to the authorities, Hale was a Nashville local.
