Pop sensation Olivia Rodrigo has taken a stand in support of abortion rights by announcing that a portion of ticket sales from her “Guts World Tour” will be donated to several abortion advocacy organizations. The announcement, made through her Instagram stories, specifically mentioned her concert in Houston, where proceeds will go towards helping women in Texas access abortion services.
Rodrigo named three groups set to benefit from her initiative: the National Network of Abortion Funds, which works to remove financial barriers to abortion access; Fund Texas Choice, a nonprofit providing travel services and support for Texans seeking abortions; and Jane’s Due Process, an organization aiding Texas teens in obtaining abortions and birth control. Additionally, Rodrigo encouraged her followers to contribute directly to The Lilith Fund for Reproductive Equality, another Texas-based organization offering financial assistance and support to those seeking abortions.
This move is part of Rodrigo’s broader initiative, the “Fund 4 Good,” which she highlighted on the first night of her tour. Through this initiative, Rodrigo aims to support women, girls, and individuals seeking reproductive health freedom by funding community-based nonprofits that promote girls’ education, reproductive rights, and the prevention of gender-based violence. For the North American leg of her tour, she is collaborating with the National Network of Abortion Funds to assist those impacted by healthcare barriers in accessing necessary reproductive care.
Rodrigo’s activism isn’t new; she has been a vocal supporter of abortion rights. Following the Supreme Court’s decision to overturn Roe v. Wade in 2022, Rodrigo performed Lily Allen’s “F— You” at the Glastonbury music festival, dedicating the song to the conservative justices responsible for the decision. This act of defiance highlighted Rodrigo’s commitment to using her platform to advocate for reproductive rights and her ongoing efforts to support organizations fighting for these causes.
