Prince William Reportedly Pressured Prince Andrew to Leave Royal Lodge, Warning Daughters Their Titles Could Be at Risk

Tensions within the royal family are reportedly escalating as new claims suggest Prince William confronted his uncle, Prince Andrew, over his continued refusal to leave the Royal Lodge — the sprawling Windsor residence he has occupied for decades. According to insiders, the Prince of Wales is said to have privately met with Andrew’s daughters, Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie, warning that their royal privileges could be reviewed if their father continues to resist plans for him to relocate.

Sources familiar with the situation say the conversation was “polite but firm,” with William expressing frustration that Andrew’s presence at the 30-room mansion has become increasingly untenable given his diminished public role and strained reputation. The property, leased under the Crown Estate, has long been a point of contention, with King Charles reportedly eager for it to be vacated and repurposed for other senior royals or official use.

The reported ultimatum placed Beatrice and Eugenie in a difficult position, as both are said to maintain a close relationship with their father while also respecting their cousin’s leadership within the family hierarchy. Those close to the princesses say they were left “deeply distressed” by the discussion but understood that the royal household is under mounting pressure to modernize and minimize ongoing controversies.

Prince Andrew, 65, has continued to resist vacating the residence despite ongoing financial strain and the withdrawal of official royal duties. The Duke of York has reportedly argued that he secured a long-term lease on the property and has invested substantial personal funds in its upkeep.

While Buckingham Palace has not issued any comment, royal watchers note that the matter underscores the growing influence of Prince William in internal family decisions. With the King’s attention divided between state duties and health concerns, the heir to the throne has increasingly taken a more assertive role in addressing lingering royal controversies.

For now, the Royal Lodge remains occupied, but the standoff signals a deeper realignment within the monarchy — one defined by accountability, modernization, and the tightening of the royal circle around those actively serving the Crown.
