Conservative activist Savannah Craven Antao says she was brutally attacked during a street interview earlier this year, leaving her face cut and shaken—and she now fears it may not be an isolated incident.
While conducting on-the-ground interviews in April, Antao alleges she was met with violence from a passerby who struck her in the face after disagreeing with her line of questioning. The altercation was captured on video and ignited debate online.
Antao, who works with the nonprofit Live Action, has since spoken publicly about the broader risks she believes conservatives face in public engagement. She argues violence is becoming more acceptable in political discourse and that those who speak out must brace for further threats.
The Manhattan District Attorney’s office earlier dropped a related case, citing a missed deadline in paperwork, but Antao says that does not deter her resolve. She remains committed to continuing her work on abortion, free speech, and public dialogue—despite the risks she now says come with the territory.
