Supporters of socialist mayoral contender Zohran Mamdani say security intervened after a protester tailed him through Foley Square and hurled accusations that he is an “antisemite.”
Video shows Mamdani being guided by his security team toward a waiting vehicle as demonstrators shouted demands to denounce Hezbollah and Sharia law. One protester followed close behind, unrelenting in his calls.
The confrontation took place during a public event where Mamdani had been rallying behind embattled New York Attorney General Letitia James. He declined to comment following the altercation.
