Re-employing unvaccinated medical personnel is “the wrong solution,” as stated by New York Governor Kathy Hochul.

Hochul claims that COVID-19 is still going strong.

Democratic New York Governor Kathy Hochul has declared that rehiring healthcare workers who have not been vaccinated is not the “proper approach” after the state’s vaccine requirement was overturned. We must have access to more medical personnel.

“The greatest way to stop the spread of COVID-19 is to stay away from healthy people who could be carriers. That is not the most optimal course of action. To this end, we are weighing our alternatives.” On Tuesday, local media asked Hochul whether or not unvaccinated healthcare workers will be allowed back into the country. “In any case, I think it is important for everyone who visits a hospital or nursing home, and their loved ones, to know that we have done everything we can to ensure the safety of the public’s health. Another part of this strategy is limiting interaction between healthy people and the sick and old, which can spread the virus.”

One reporter, however, pushed back, asking Hochul if masks or other alternatives might be used to allow non-vaccinated healthcare workers back into hospitals.

“People go to medical facilities hoping they would leave in better health than when they came. That is the sort of thing New Yorkers would expect,” As Hochul puts it.

Ten lawmakers expressed their dismay with the demand in a letter to Hochul dated January 19.

In a joint letter, Republican legislators complained that “decades of healthcare experience are being put on the sidelines or pushed into other states owing to the mandate.” This is crucial information since the United States Centers for Disease Control, and Prevention head has publicly said that immunization is useless.

A state’s highest court judge pronounced the mandate “null, void, and of no effect” on January 13. Some days later, legislators penned the letter.

Judge Gerard Neri found that the governor and the New York State Department of Health had overstepped their limits by making COVID-19 immunization a permanent necessity since it is not listed in the state’s public health law.

Neri maintained that the respondents needed more authority to make such a finding.

On Saturday, the state health officials released a statement stating it was “looking into its options” in light of the verdict.

A valid certificate of immunization against COVID-19 issued on or after September 27, 2021, is required for employment in the healthcare industry in New York State. Thousands of nursing homes, hospitals, and other healthcare workers have been fired, placed on unpaid leave, or pressured to resign because they refused to comply with the mandate. As a result, there is a gap in the market that needs to be addressed.

Possible need for more healthcare staff in New York. According to some sources, ambulances have to wait hours for patients to be released from local emergency rooms.
