Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-CO) released a statement apologizing for her actions that led to her being removed from a “Beetlejuice” musical in Denver. According to reports, Boebert and her boyfriend were vaping, singing, and causing a disturbance during the performance, leading to complaints from other patrons.
Denver Arts & Venues received three complaints about Boebert’s behavior, including vaping and creating noise. Theater officials warned the couple and eventually asked them to leave, stating that they would be trespassing if they stayed.
Boebert’s spokesperson denied that she was vaping during the performance, suggesting there may have been a misunderstanding due to fog machines and electronic cigarettes used in the show. However, surveillance footage from the theater appeared to show otherwise.
In her statement, Boebert apologized for her actions and acknowledged that her behavior fell short of her values. She also mentioned that she has been going through a challenging divorce, which has been a difficult personal time for her and her family.
The incident drew attention and criticism, as Boebert is a public figure and a member of Congress.
