Rep. Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) has vowed to remove three prominent Democrats from their committee posts.

Kevin McCarthy, leader of the Republicans in the House, has threatened three high-profile Democrats with dismissal if he is elected speaker.

If the Republicans take control of the House, McCarthy has threatened to remove Democratic Representatives Ilhan Omar (MN), Adam Schiff (CA), and Eric Swalwell (CA) from their committee assignments. McCarthy has defended his threatening tone by citing the political precarity of his speakership.

In January, Representatives Swalwell, Schiff, and Omar served on one of the House Intelligence or House Foreign Affairs Committees, and Chairman McCarthy threatened to remove them.

Right now, he can deliver on his word.

McCarthy said Schiff and Omar’s lives were in danger because they supported the Steele dossier and had made anti-Semitic remarks.

McCarthy said, “Look at Congresswoman Omar, her anti-Semitic sentiments that have gone forth; we will not allow her to be on the Intel Committee either.” For example, McCarthy brought up Adam Schiff, who consistently lied to the American people. We have decided never to let her work in international relations again.

According to the Republican, Swalwell’s popularity plummeted after he was linked to a Chinese spy.

During my time here, it has been common knowledge that Representative Eric Swalwell will never be granted access to confidential documents. To restate, “What he said was.” We don’t need an excuse to keep him from knowing America’s secrets, do we? Because of this, I will not be able to hire him at Intel.

It is widely expected that McCarthy will become the next speaker of the House of Representatives next year, even though not all Republicans agree.

Some Republicans, like Arizona’s Andy Biggs and Florida’s Matt Gaetz, are worried that if McCarthy were to win the speakership with a majority vote, he would become a political hostage of the Democrats.
