In a stunning revelation, a member of the House Oversight Committee made a bold claim on Monday, suggesting that the FBI is concerned for the safety of an informant who has accused Vice President Biden of being involved in a global bribery operation. The informant’s identity, if exposed, could potentially lead to grave consequences.

Following a confidential briefing by the FBI, Republican Representative Anna Paulina Luna from Florida took to Twitter to express her concerns. She stated, “The FBI is genuinely worried that their informant, who has brought forward damning information about the Biden family, would face grave harm if their identity were revealed.”

When approached for further comment, Luna described the FBI’s apprehensions as “deeply disturbing and alarming.” Fox News reached out to both the FBI and Republican Representative James Comer, the chair of the House Oversight Committee, for their responses.

According to reports, the informant had approached Comer and Senator Chuck Grassley from Iowa last month, asserting that the FBI possessed a document known as the FD-1023, dated June 30, 2020. This document supposedly contained information provided by a trusted source, alleging that Biden, during his tenure as vice president, had participated in a criminal bribery scheme worth $5 million with a foreign national, in exchange for wielding influence over policy decisions.

Sources familiar with the matter disclosed that the FBI’s confidential human source is highly credible and has been involved in numerous investigations, spanning back to the Obama administration. Furthermore, information obtained privately revealed that this particular informant had a longstanding relationship with the FBI, having been employed in various unrelated investigations.

In an attempt to access the FD-1023 document, Comer had issued a subpoena to the FBI, but the bureau declined to provide it, citing the need to protect sources and methods. Comer even threatened FBI Director Christopher Wray with contempt of Congress if the document was not handed over to the committee.

On Monday, Comer made an announcement that he intends to pursue contempt of Congress proceedings against Director Wray for withholding the document that implicates Biden in the alleged conspiracy, despite having been briefed by agency officials and having seen the document.

Luna revealed that the contempt hearing for Director Wray is scheduled to take place this Thursday before the committee. She expressed her frustration, accusing Wray of colluding to shield the Biden administration from the scandalous allegations of corruption.

However, the FBI refutes these claims, asserting that it has consistently demonstrated a commitment to accommodating the committee’s request. While the bureau did not directly hand over the document, it provided access to a reading room within the U.S. Capitol for committee members to review it.
