Some have called for a “break between red states and blue states,” as one Georgia lawmaker put it.
During today’s first hour of Fox News coverage, a far-right Republican congressman called for a “national divorce” on Presidents Day.
Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, a Republican from Georgia, called for a divorce from the United States on Monday in a tweet.
Greene tweeted, “We need to separate by red states and blue states and shrink the federal government,” stating that, “everyone she talks to says this.”
Our country was destroyed by what Greene called “the filthy and ugly woke culture problems pushed down our throats” and by “the Democrat’s traitorous America Last policies, we are done.”
The Georgia maverick’s comments are parred for the course for Greene, who has a history of provoking the ire of party leaders on both the Democratic and Republican sides.
Greene has stated her regret for her prior QAnon articles, which she believes promoted conspiracy theories such as the control of “lasers or blue beams of light” by a Jewish family and the existence of a left-wing cabal.
Greene is well-known for her harsh criticism of House Speaker Kevin McCarthy, R-Calif., earning her a reputation as an anti-establishment contender.
McCarthy had already won over Greene before his arduous speakership fight began, but she still didn’t make any friends among her radical colleagues who opposed McCarthy’s victorious campaign for the speaker’s gavel.
