Sen Diane Feinstein released the transcripts of Fusion GPS founder Glenn Simpson without the approval of the committee. Now the Republicans are striking back but taking the legal route instead.
To be fair, liberals aren’t aware that the law applies to them, so they just ignore them. At least until they are sent to prison. Rep Ron DeSantis is now using House rules in an effort to have Speaker of the House Paul Ryan to declassify the Trump dossier and to release all of the documents showing how opposition research bought and paid for by Hillary Clinton and the DNC was used illegally to get warrants and surveillance against Trump’s campaign.
DeSantis, the chairman of the House Oversight subcommittee on National Security sent a letter to Paul Ryan and asked for the declassification under House rules that makes the Speaker of the House a speaker is deemed an ex-officio member of any select committee, and with his okay and the majority vote of the committee could release any information that is deemed important if they determine that it is in the public interest to know. Expect the Democrats to fight this tooth and nail.
After five months, the DOJ finally released the documents that pertain to the Trump dossier and how it was used to get warrants and to open investigations against the president before and after taking office.
To date the only item that’s been verified is that Carter Page went to Russia. The accusations that he met with Kremlin officials during his trip there to give a speech. Ironically, the dossier lists Kremlin officials as the sources behind the dossier. Something is rotten in Minsk.
From The Daily Caller
California GOP Rep. Devin Nunes, chairman of the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence, and other members of his committee gained full access to the documents Friday.
The documents also included possible Obama administration use of the dossier to justify surveillance of Trump transition officials.
DeSantis wrote:
“The American people deserve answers. I am asking Speaker Ryan to ask, pursuant to House rules, Chairman Nunes to declassify any documents his committee may have related to the Steele dossier, as maintaining integrity in our nation’s law enforcement agencies is integral to our democracy.”
“The more we learn about the production of the discredited Steele dossier, the more it appears that a select group of FBI and Justice Department officials utilized what was effectively Hillary Clinton’s political opposition research document.”
DeSantis would not request the release unless he already knows what is in the documents. You will be able to gauge how incriminating those documents are by how hard the liberals fight to keep them confidential.
