A North Carolina man identified as the prime suspect in the October 10 killing of a 51-year-old hotel guest has more than 40 previous arrests to his name.
The suspect, aged 32, was taken into custody after authorities say he and three accomplices forced their way into a Motel 6 room in Charlotte and shot the victim multiple times during what is described as a robbery. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
Court documents indicate the suspect’s prior record stretches back to 2012 and includes charges such as firearm possession by a felon, multiple assaults, burglary, and drug offenses. However, many of those earlier charges were dismissed by prosecutors or resulted in minimal jail time.
He now faces charges of felony murder, armed robbery with a dangerous weapon, and conspiracy. A judge ruled him to be held without bond at the Mecklenburg County Sheriff’s Office as the case moves forward.
