Two soldiers are being questioned after photos of them dressing their service dogs as BDSM leaked online.

Images of one of the officers, who resigned from the Army only last week, wearing one of the dog masks, have surfaced online. Two gang members were revealed to be commissioned officers after their identities were revealed in a long chat broadcast by a second Twitter account. On Tuesday, the Army released a statement promising to examine the claims.

U.S. Army Pacific is aware of material published on social media revealing activities while in uniform, according to Major Jonathan Lewis, a spokeswoman for the U.S. Army, who talked to USA Today. We are now investigating the matter.

To the extent that you abide by the rules set forth by the federal government.

The court-martial determines the sentence for an officer, cadet, or midshipman who has committed dishonorable offenses to their rank or uniform.

    Furthermore:

Any individual subject to this chapter may be tried and punished by a general, special, or summary court-martial for any crime or offense other than a capital penalty, including any disorder or negligence detrimental to good order and discipline in the armed services.

U.S. Today reports that such behavior might result in anything from a reprimand to a demotion. An ex-soldier may be recalled to active duty to face a court-martial. A decreased pension is one potential drawback of leaving the military at a lower rank.

“All U.S. Army troops are obliged to retain high standards of personal behavior and to avoid degrading the military and the uniform in person and on social media,” said another U.S. Army spokesperson, as reported by USA Today.

The investigation began after one of the accounts, “Pup Ravage,” abruptly left the Army last week. Veteran conservatives seized the tweet as evidence of a growing military weak spot.

NoVA Campaigns on Twitter cites retired Army Colonel Brian T. Connelly of the United States Indo-Pacific Command. Connelly was assigned to the Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hicks on the island of Oahu in the Hawaiian archipelago. Under this guise, he also posted images of himself on Instagram wearing a dog mask and in uniform.

Connelly was good friends with Captain Dayton Tenney, aka “HonuPup” online. “Pup play” is a sexual fetish common among BDSM members, and it’s one that both Connelly and Tenney indulge in. Members engage in sexual activities while dressed as dogs (leather masks and tails included). The Instagram account of one Connelly is rife with pictures of him and his buddies. According to NoVA Campaigns’ reporting, many targets were in the cops’ sights at once.

In response to Connelly’s retirement announcement, a dog-masked police captain from the medical unit wrote in. All breached accounts have been deactivated or deleted.

Earlier this year, two officials of the Biden administration made headlines for being open about their sexual orientation. The issue involving former Deputy Assistant Secretary for Spent Fuel and Waste Disposal Sam Brinton and his “puppy play” escalated in September when photos of White House Monkeypox Response Deputy Coordinator Dr. Demetre Daskalakis in bondage gear went public.
