During a panel discussion, California Democrat Katie Porter singled out swimming gold medalist Riley Gaines, making it seem as though Gaines was only attempting to attract media attention. Over the weekend, Gaines sent a response to Porter.
British political commentator Piers Morgan spoke on HBO’s “Real Time” with presenter Bill Maher and slammed Porter, and the tape went viral after Morgan’s criticism.
It’s Representative Katy Porter! It’s not my opinion to give…The athlete Gaines declared, “I’m done with sports.” “I don’t defend myself in court. This year, though, I am supposed to be attending dentistry school. But now that I know what may be lost if someone doesn’t stand up for the next generation, I’ve decided to rethink my mind.
One may reasonably ask, “Why is it always women who fight against sex-based protections?” Success kept on rising. “I just don’t get it.”
Last week, Gaines traveled to San Francisco State University to advocate for the rights of female athletes, but she was accosted by radical transgender activists. This happened following the assault on Gaines.
When asked about her disagreement with Gaines, Porter replied she “strongly” disagreed. She claimed ignorance when Morgan probed for clarification.
“I think the sports leagues should decide who is really—” Porter began to speak but was interrupted.
But what exactly has she stated that is incorrect? Morgan finally responded.
She probably tried to make this about something else, as suggested by what Porter said afterwards. We discussed the strategies people employ to gain attention.
This is not what she is doing,” Morgan remarked. “From what I’ve seen of her, all she does is advocate for women’s rights, equality, and the truth. Unfortunately, she did engage in a physical altercation with Lia Thomas. In one of the NCAA championship races, Lia Thomas beat out the competition by 50 seconds. That just cannot be correct. That can’t be right.
Morgan countered Porter’s claim that Gaines was just speaking for herself by saying, “I think she’s speaking for pretty much every female athlete in the world.”
