Rock Singer Blasts DeSantis Supporters During Concert

Haley Williams, lead vocalist of the band Paramore, has been vocal in her support of transgender youngsters receiving medical treatment.

In a recent concert, “Paramore” frontwoman Hayley Williams ripped against her political opponents, declaring potential voters for Florida Republican gubernatorial candidate Ron DeSantis, “You’re f—ing dead to me.”

Williams, co-founder of the successful pop-rock group, reportedly used Saturday’s Adjacent Music Festival in Atlantic City, New Jersey, to address her detractors, who have said she does not speak out politically enough online.

While taking a break during her band Paramore’s performance, singer Hayley Williams reassured the audience, “I’ll be happy to tell you I’m very f—ing comfortable talking politics.”

She showed this by attacking anyone in the crowd who was considering voting for DeSantis in the 2024 presidential election.

“And if you vote for Ron DeSantis, you’re f—ing dead to me,” she screamed. The audience roared its approval at the line.

Singing, “So, is that comfortable enough for anyone?” The vocalist threw up her hands. The audience didn’t stop applauding the performer.

The Florida governor had only days before announced his candidacy for president with Twitter owner Elon Musk at a Twitter Spaces event, and Williams’ forceful statements followed just days later.

The governor of Florida is a leading contender for the Republican presidential nomination, and he has risen to prominence thanks to a record of conservative legislation in Florida that has enraged liberals around the country. His major opponent in the race is former President Donald Trump.

As part of his education agenda, DeSantis has attacked the teaching of critical race theory and LGBTQ+ studies in Florida’s public schools. The left, among other groups, has criticized him for this, claiming he is banning books and erasing black history.

Williams has long expressed his liberal views publicly. The Paramore frontwoman has been vocal in her opposition to several pieces of legislation this year that would have restricted access to sex change medical procedures for minors and prohibited drag concerts in public places frequented by children.

Williams said at the time, “Drag is not a crime,” in an Instagram post. All people, especially our young people, need access to health care that respects their gender identity. She continued, “Once again, our state has enacted two regressive and unimaginably destructive measures. We support the efforts of local LGBTQIA+ organizations and our own LGBTQIA+ family members to achieve not just acceptance but radical acceptance and empowerment for all members of the queer community.
