Ron DeSantis Removes Liquor License From Hotels For Hosting Drag Shows To Children

The Hyatt Regency Miami lost its license to sell alcohol because children were at a drag queen show there.

The DeSantis administration took away the hotel’s liquor license after a December drag queen event with a Christmas theme went ahead despite warnings.

According to a statement from the office of Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation told the Hyatt Regency Miami not to hold a “sexually graphic show with minors present.” However, the hotel went ahead and held the event anyway.

So, the Department is taking away the venue’s license to sell and serve alcohol. “Another statement will be made.” It is against the law in Florida to show sexually explicit content to children. Ron DeSantis, who is the governor of Florida, is a strong supporter of kids’ access to education there.”

The Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation got a complaint that the event had “graphic pictures of birth and/or abortion,” “simulations of masturbating,” and “deliberate exposure” of the performers’ rear ends and prosthetic breasts and genitals.

According to the lawsuit, the hotel first advertised the event with Christmas-themed materials that did not warn of sexually explicit content but instead said “all ages welcome.” “A Drag Queen Christmas” was the name of the event, which took place in the second half of December.

The venue was told not to let kids in, so a disclaimer saying that the show was “recommended for audiences 18 and up” was put on promotional materials. Even so, the complaint says that kids under 18 could still go with an adult.

So, “children went and were accepted with full knowledge,” as the lawsuit says. The Performance used sexily suggestive clothes and fake female genitalia, and it was put on for a crowd that included children under 16 years old.

According to the department, the screens behind the performers showed movies with “exposed female breasts with less than an opaque covering, depictions of simulated masturbation, and other sexually explicit content.”

“Perverted versions of popular children’s Christmas melodies” were also played at the party, according to the complaint. Lines like “I’ll sit on his lap, and he can put his milk and cookies in between my gap” makes it clear what the song is about.

You’re familiar with Dasher, Dancer, Prancer, and Vixen. So they say, they sang Vomit and Dumb and Dildo and D***s-in during a performance of “Screwdolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer.” This is what the Florida Department says. and “Then, one foggy Christmas Eve, Santa came to Rudolph and said, “Screwdolph, your nose is so good, won’t you drive my sleigh tonight?”

It was said in a formal complaint that the hotel had broken Florida law.

In this case, the plaintiff says that the hotel broke the law by letting the performance happen because it showed “genitals in a vulgar or lascivious way and simulated sexual behavior,” which is not appropriate for children under the age of 16.

In the complaint, there were flyers for “A Drag Queen Christmas” that said the event had been happening every year for the past seven years.

On December 28, people both for and against the show gathered outside a theater in Orlando to protest. The show was touring the country at the time.

Fox News has tried to get in touch with the Hyatt Regency Miami more than once, but we haven’t heard anything back.
