President Trump’s lawyer, Rudy Giuliani said that he thinks that Michael Cohen will get disbarred over taping his talks with clients and even worse, turning it over to CNN and then lying about what is said. Isn’t every conversation between a lawyer and his client confidential.
That means you don’t broadcast it on a station where literally dozens of people will hear it. Cohen may well have ended his legal career over this tape. Even if he isn’t disbarred, who would ever trust him after this huge ethical lapse? Giuliani says that he doesn’t blame Lanny Davis and that the entire blame rests on Cohen’s shoulders.
“Not at all. I don’t have any concerns about that,” he replied. “[Davis] is a lawyer. He has the right to represent who he wants. I question the strategy of doing this. Of trying to make a tape say what it doesn’t say. Or of putting out a tape in which you are kind of proud of the fact that you are a lawyer, putting out a tape of your client.”
Giuliani also questioned Cohen’s credibility in cooperating with the federal government and said he’s become persona non grata in the legal community.
“And then thinking you can cooperate with the government. You know to cooperate with the government you’ve got to have credibility. The first thing that happens is, this guy’s going to be disbarred,” he concluded. “I mean it’s ridiculous. He’s a pariah to the legal profession.”
There was nothing on the tape that was incriminating although CNN and Lanny Davis, Bill and Hillary’s pal, tried to make it appear that there was. And here I thought Cohen would have Donald Trump’s back. There’s no telling what he may say (true or otherwise) to save his own skin. What do you think? Let us know in the comments below.
