The United States is “playing with fire” by initiating a “hybrid war” with Russia, a minister in the Russian government said, claiming the irrational spike in nuclear worries is America’s fault.
According to a Kremlin insider, the “new cold war” is now concluded. Russia’s invasion of Ukraine is apparently lost on him, as he instead accuses the United States of “playing with fire” and risking a nuclear war that the Russian people would want to avoid.
Russia said today that it has deployed nuclear-capable missiles near Belarus’ border with NATO and trained Belarusian planes to carry and drop nuclear bombs. These remarks follow the announcements by only a few hours. Russia claimed the United States was to responsible for sending nuclear weapons to its European allies, even though Moscow had done the same thing.
According to a report from Russia’s state-run news and propaganda agency, Deputy Foreign Minister Sergey Ryabkov indicated on Wednesday that he believed the Cold War to be finished. We are currently engaged in a terrible battle with the United States. We can see that country is directly embroiled in a multi-front conflict with Russia on numerous fronts.
Despite widespread accusations that Russia was behind the attack on Ukraine, the minister said that the United States was actually the aggressor and Russia the victim. When he added, “There can be no winners in a nuclear war, and it must not happen,” Ryabkov made his argument crystal plain.
One’s faith in the intellect and common sense of our American opponents is called into doubt by the way they are dangerously, provocatively, and in many instances absolutely negligently ascending the escalation ladder.
If the United States invades Russian territory, Russia “will be ready to take all measures and use all means at our disposal,” as Ryabkov put it. The US is “playing with fire” and making “fatal mistakes,” he said.
Russia has been more vocal about their claim to sovereignty in recent months, in response to NATO’s increased support for Ukraine. Russia has deflected criticism of its invasion of Ukraine by labeling the conflict a “special military operation.”
The effectiveness of the Russian military came into question once it became clear that the onslaught wouldn’t be able to gain territory and swiftly became bogged. Somebody from the Pentagon remarked this week, “I think we’ve seen failures that the Russian military hasn’t been able to carry out on the battlefield and failures in their command-and-control.”
