It looks like WH spokesperson Sarah Sanders may have had a very good reason for leaving her job. She is said to be considering running for governor of Arkansas, a job her father used to hold. That would be good news for Arkansas.
I have no doubt that she would do an excellent job and that the people of Arkansas would benefit from her leadership. Of course, this is being reported by CNN, so what are the odds that it’s true. I’d give it a possible 2 to 3 percent chance, based on their previous reporting. Even that might be kind of high.
“I couldn’t be prouder to have had the opportunity to serve my country and particularly to work for this president. He has accomplished so much in these two and half years and it’s truly been something that I will treasure forever,” Sanders said. “It’s one of the greatest jobs I could ever have. I have loved every minute, even the hard minutes. I’ve loved it. I love the president. I’ve loved the team that I’ve had the opportunity to work for.
The president is surrounded by some of the most incredible and most talented people you could ever imagine, and it’s truly the most special experience. The only one I can think of that might top it just a little bit is the fact that I’m a mom. I have three amazing kids. I’m going to spend a little more time with them.”
Trump announced her departure in a series of Thursday tweets.
“After 3 1/2 years, our wonderful Sarah Huckabee Sanders will be leaving the White House at the end of the month and going home to the Great State of Arkansas,” Trump said. “She is a very special person with extraordinary talents, who has done an incredible job! I hope she decides to run for Governor of Arkansas – she would be fantastic.”
