Senator Hatch Accidentally Revealed Trump’s Pick for the Supreme Court

Orrin Hatch may not have known it at the time but he has revealed President Trump’s next nominee to the Supreme Court. There are four finalists for the spot. After I allow you to read Hatch’s statement, see if you can guess who it is.

“Just as he did with Neil Gorsuch, the president has promised to nominate an impartial judge, a wise and seasoned jurist committed to upholding the Constitution at all costs. But no matter the nominee’s background or credentials, progressives will do everything they can to paint her as a closet partisan, if not an outright extremist.”

Just in case you didn’t guess I’ll give you another quote:

“As the senior member of the Judiciary Committee, I will fight to keep jurisprudence as the sole focus of our confirmation hearings. And I will devote all my energies to ensuring that we confirm the kind of Supreme Court justice America needs: a justice who says what the law is, not what she wants it to be; a justice who calls balls and strikes instead of swinging for the fences; a justice whose foremost allegiance is to the American people and to the Constitution.”

With those two quotes, you should have guessed he was talking about Amy Coney Barrett, the only woman under consideration for the appointment. The feminine pronouns were a dead giveaway.

    From The Hill

Just the speculation that Barrett could be tapped to succeed Kennedy has sparked early crossfire, underscoring that she’s viewed as one of, if not the, most controversial pick Trump could make.

“She is a conservative woman who has been successful, who has been a mother, been a professor, which represents a lot of conservative women out there. … The left hates that. It does not fit their model,” Tony Perkins, the president of the Family Research Council, said on Fox News radio.

Senate Minority Leader Charles Schumer (D-N.Y.) made Barrett his first direct target, warning she would be an “activist” justice and the “deciding vote” on overturning Roe v. Wade.

Democrats will attack her on religion because that’s what they do.
