Federal litigation claims the Biden administration illegally transferred over $500 million to the Palestinian Authority without ensuring the money would be utilized for legitimate purposes and not to fund terrorist organizations.
Legal defense for the accused is provided by the government watchdog group America First Legal (AFL). Terrorism victims and Texas state representative Ronny Jackson, a Republican, are among the plaintiffs in this action.
Representative Jackson stated, “Joe Biden is breaching the law by authorizing American tax dollars to sponsor terrorism in Israel, and he must be stopped,” in a statement by the House Foreign Affairs Committee. Says one survivor, “I am happy to be on the same side as we hold this failed administration responsible for the damage they have produced via Pay to Slay.” People who have been victims of crime have “immense esteem” for one another.
A clause named after U.S. Army veteran Taylor Force, who was murdered by Palestinian terrorists in 2016, states that U.S. financing for the Palestinian Authority is restricted until the secretary of state certifies that the Palestinian Authority has ceased sponsoring violent extremism. This legislation was part of a larger spending package that Congress passed, and Trump signed into law in 2018.
In the United States District Court for the Northern District of Texas, President Joe Biden and Secretary of State Antony Blinken are being sued for damages over alleged violations of the Taylor Force Act.
Stuart and Robbi Force, Taylor’s parents, and Sarri Singer, who was also on the bus when it was detonated by a suicide bomber in Jerusalem in 2003, are suing the city.
The plaintiffs, according to Reed Rubenstein, director of AFL Oversight, are asking the government to do the right thing.
Rubenstein told Fox News Digital, “We want to impose responsibility and openness.” “There has been a reliance on these NGOs to mediate between the Palestinian Authority and government authorities. Gov’t’s ludicrous attempts to stifle NGOs’ voices.”
His lawyer, David Rubenstein, argues that his client has standing since he is a member of the House Foreign Affairs Committee and a victim of terrorism. His prediction is that we won’t hear back from the administration until late February.
In March of 2021, the State Agency informed the PA, the PLO, and any successor or connected entities that they needed to be in conformity with [the Taylor Force Act]. In its report to Congress in October 2022, the State Department concluded that there was “no evidence” to suggest that the Palestinian Authority had ceased assisting terrorists.
Qadri Abu Bakr, the PLO’s Commissioner for Prisoners’ Affairs, said in March 2021 that the organization had awarded awards totaling over $181 million over the preceding year.
However, the complaint claims that in May of 2021, Blinken promised over $360 million in U.S. aid to the Palestinian Authority, the bulk of which would come from Economic Supports Funds. A terrorist whose family had been responsible for the death of two Israelis was compensated $42,000 in June of 2021. It has been established that Palestinian Authority Chairman Mahmoud Abbas authorized some financial dealings.
The Force family has spoken out against what they see as President Biden and Secretary of State Blinken demeaning their loved one’s memory and legacy. It has been said that both “ignore the inhabitants of the United States who know that government resources should not be used to finance the slaughter of innocent civilians.”
The press office at the State Department could not provide a statement because of ongoing litigation.
The government released an information sheet on March 26 detailing the facts of this aid and its anticipated consequences. If resources were made available, providing access to clean water, sanitation facilities, and hygiene instruction would go a long way toward helping impoverished Palestinian households escape poverty.
Since April 2021, the United States has provided over $417 million to UNRWA to help Palestinian refugees, $75 million to USAID to provide support, and $20.5 million to COVID and Gaza rehabilitation assistance, as stated in a fact sheet produced by the Department of State.
To aid the Palestinians for the current fiscal year, the government has provided an additional $75 million. Approximately $45 million is allocated yearly by the United States to programs that promote lawfulness and safety.
The group’s leader, David Rubenstein, is particular that the government would claim the money is not going to the Palestinian Authority.
We may ignore the possibility that the Palestinian Authority uses the assistance money for garbage collection if we choose. It’s possible that some of the money earmarked for the Palestinian people would instead be utilized to finance terrorist actions, despite the government’s insistence. Since goods and services of all kinds may be bought and sold with money, their utility is limitless. This claim was first made by Rubenstein. If more money is spent on violent pursuits, then more violence will happen.
