According to a survey released on Wednesday, the former Republican governor of New Jersey Chris Christie is having a surprise impact on a certain voting demographic in the country. According to the study, this Republican presidential candidate has more support from Democrats than from members of his own party.
A Quinnipiac University survey found that 32% of Democrats had a favorable opinion of Christie as a contender for the Democratic Party’s presidential nomination. Only 17% of Republicans had a positive opinion of Christie, in comparison.
This study, which was made public on Wednesday, had a margin of error of around 2.3 percentage points and was conducted from August 10 to August 14.
Similar results from a previous Fox News poll showed that among Democrats who identified as such, Christie was the most popular Republican contender.
According to the August 11–14 poll, 22% of Democrats had a favorable opinion of Christie. Democrats who took part in the survey gave former vice president Mike Pence a positive grade from 17% of them.
11% or fewer of the questioned Democrats had positive opinions of other Republican contenders.
Due to an ongoing public conflict with former President Trump, Christie continues to be in the public eye, which leads to these results.
Christie referred to Trump as a “child” in a recent exclusive interview with Fox News Digital, and he denied Trump’s assertion that he stood up for Christie when an audience member made a remark about his weight. No one in the crowd cried out the second term he called me, according to Christie. The same as usual, he made it up.
Christie has hinted that Trump may decide at the last minute to attend the first Republican debate against other GOP candidates next week, despite the fact that Trump has not yet made it clear if he would take part.
Look, I’ll make it very simple for Donald Trump, Christie said. You’re such a large, strong, and brash person, full of himself. You desire me? In two weeks in Milwaukee, I’ll be performing on stage. I’ll be waiting for you there. I’ll be there if you are, too.
Fox News will hold the first Republican presidential debate on August 23 in Milwaukee.
