Law enforcement investigators have identified the person accused of vandalizing Vice President J.D. Vance’s home as a transgender individual named Julia, whose legal name was recently changed, according to public records and police sources.

The suspect was taken into custody after authorities traced evidence from the vandalism incident — which included property damage and graffiti — back to the individual. Police said surveillance footage and witness tips helped lead them to Julia, whose previous encounters with law enforcement were noted during the investigation.

Court documents show that the suspect has a history of multiple interactions with police prior to the vandalism charge. Officers arrested the individual on charges related to criminal mischief and unlawful entry, and the case has been forwarded to local prosecutors for review.

The suspect’s parent, a physician residing in the community, is not implicated in any wrongdoing and has not been charged in connection with the incident. There has been no public statement from the suspect or family regarding the allegations.

Authorities continue to gather evidence and are working to complete their report, which will be used in upcoming legal proceedings. Community members in the neighborhood where the vandalism took place expressed concern about the event but noted that the arrest has helped restore a sense of security.

The case is expected to proceed through the local court system, where the charges and the suspect’s prior record will be factors in how the matter is adjudicated. Defense and prosecution will present their arguments as the judicial process moves forward.
