A former educator from South Carolina, Reagan Anderson, was apprehended on charges of sexual misconduct involving a 17-year-old high school football player. Anderson, 27, a married mother of two, faces allegations of two counts of sexual battery against a student from Holly Hill Academy, as reported by WCSC.

During a bond hearing on Thursday, the victim’s mother vehemently condemned Anderson, describing her as a “trusted coach, teacher, and friend” who betrayed their trust and failed in her duties as an educator. The mother’s statement highlighted the impact of Anderson’s actions on her son, who she said is now unable to enjoy his youth and passion for football due to the trauma caused by the accused.

The judge set Anderson’s bond at $2,500 and ordered no contact with the victim or his family. Anderson was subsequently released on the same day with a GPS monitoring device. The first alleged assault reportedly took place on October 22 on Bunch Ford Road, with a subsequent incident occurring in a parking lot outside of Pizza Hut on October 28. Additionally, Anderson is accused of sending inappropriate images to the teenager via Snapchat.

Rumors of the inappropriate relationship led to the school’s administration contacting the sheriff’s office on November 8. Holly Hill Academy’s Head of School, Brandy Mullennax, confirmed the immediate action taken by the school upon learning of the allegations and assured cooperation with the Orangeburg County Sheriff’s Office in their investigation. Following the incident, Anderson no longer holds a position at the private Christian preparatory school, which serves around 300 students from pre-kindergarten through twelfth grade and is located approximately 60 miles northwest of Charleston.

Sheriff Leroy Ravenell stated that an investigation was initiated promptly upon notification of the allegations. Anderson, when reached for comment, did not respond to the email request.
