A teenager accused of setting fire to a synagogue in Mississippi posted a hospital selfie showing severe burns just hours after the blaze, law enforcement sources say.

The image, shared from the hospital bed, shows the young suspect with extensive bandages and burn injuries, which are believed to have been sustained during or shortly after the fire at the place of worship.

Authorities arrested the teen and have charged them in connection with the arson. Investigators are examining how the incident unfolded and what led to the suspect’s injuries. The case is being handled by federal law enforcement, given the location and nature of the alleged offense.

Officials have not released a full account of the motive, but the discovery of the selfie has drawn attention as part of the ongoing probe. Community leaders have condemned the attack on the synagogue and are working with investigators to ensure public safety.

The investigation continues as authorities gather evidence and interview witnesses to build their case against the accused arsonist.
